Pre-register your .au domain before 20 September and protect your business

Pre-register your .au domain before 20 September and protect your business

.au is an all-new direct domain name extension for the Australian domain namespace. It will allow any business, organisation or individual with a connection to Australia the ability to register a .au direct domain name, like mybusiness.au.

All businesses that own (are a registrant) of a .com.au domain (web address) should pre-register the .au version of the same name prior to 20 September 2022.  After this time, any competitor or person can register the .au version of your domain.  Register today to protect your brand from falling into the hands of competitors.

By registering the “.au” version of your domain, you don’t need to change your website or any settings, you will simply control and protect this version of your domain for future use.

For example, your business is selling cakes and your web address (domain) is sweetcakes.com.au.  The .au version will be sweetcakes.au

Note: To be eligible to pre-register the .au version, you must have owned (be the registrant) of your .com.au or .net.au domain version prior to March 24, 2022.

After 20 September 2022 the priority status will end, and any eligible person or entity will be able to register .au domains.
